Finished Clay/ Glazed/ Fired Totem Pole:

Problems: During the process of sculpting this, the clay started to dry out; so I had to wrap it in drenched paper towel a couple nights. The wings on the eagle (2nd) wouldnt stay on no matter how much slip I put on. Trying to get the shape of a dolphins head was difficult. Finding time to glaze the totem pole, while I was painting my coffee can head, was difficult too.

I chose the people to be on my totem pole because they are my best friends. The ones I can count on and trust with my secrets.

First I made the panda, then the eagle. I made the peacock and the dolphin next. I made the snake (bottom) next, then the monkey (above snake) because I needed to know how small the bottom of the monkey needed to be.

Why: I chose to do the eagle because it was my favorite. I liked the wings and the nose.
Problems: Finding time to paper mache and to paint it.
Who: The eagle is Terry because he calls himself Batman, and both fly. Terry also is very strong.
